As a matter of fact, there are many different types of cakes for specific purposes and occasions. For example, chocolate muffins are the best for birthday and wedding programs. They have different tastes, colors and designs.

Angel cake originated from the United Kingdom. The major ingredients for it include flour, sugar, icing, vanilla extract and eggs. Angel cake is actually different from the other type known as Angel food cake.

North America is home to the Angel food cake. This one tastes nice especially when made with aromatic sauces such as mace and cloves. Sweet fruit sauces can also be used in place of some aromatic ones or combined together. The major ingredients for this sponge cake are wheat flour, cream of Tartar and egg white. It can be prepared with either Bundt pan or tube pan.

Do you know the difference between Red velvet cake and devil food cake? Devil food cake consists of butter, flour, cocoa solids, beets and other ingredients. These ingredients and the method of production make the chocolate part of the cake to be moist, rich and chocolate. These three characteristics are also responsible for its high sales. Another major part of its production is baking soda as it helps to intensify the mahogany color.

Red velvet cake is also from the US and it belongs to the type known as layer cake. The ingredients for it include coloring or beetroot, cream cheese icing, vanilla, cocoa powder, flour, butter, butter milk and sugar. Its common colors are dark, red, bright red and red-brown. Red violet cake is very popular and it is available in several cupcake bakeries.

Dundee cake was also produced first in the UK. It was first made by the Keiller's Marmalade Company in Scotland. Almonds, currants and sultanas are some of its major ingredients. The fruits make them appetizing and more delicious than most other cake varieties. Dundee cake is available in most UK stores.

Clover honey is made from white clover. It is dominant in Canada and New Zealand.
