For tastier meat, cook for longer periods of time under a lower heat. This allows the flavor, time to fully settle and seep into the meat. In addition, this will produce a piece of meat that is much more tender than one that has been cooked at a higher temperature for a shorter period of time.

If your toaster's slots are wide enough, use it to make a quick grilled cheese. Lay the toaster on its side, and place a slice of bread covered with a slice of cheese into each slot, cheese side up. When the bread finishes toasting, place the two slices together, cheesy sides facing.

Remove roasts, chickens, pork loins, or hams from the oven just a couple of minutes before they reach their ideal temperature for perfectly cooked meat that isn't too dry. The meat will continue to cook for the first couple of minutes outside the oven, bringing it to a safe temperature.

If you accidentally add too much salt to a soup or sauce, you can reduce the saltiness by placing a whole peeled potato in the pot for a while. The potato will absorb some of the salt and make the soup more palatable. Just remember to remove the potato before serving the dish.

Sometimes it can seem like a good idea to pile on all of your ingredients into the pan to save you time from having to cook them all separately. However, this can only prolong the cooking process since most foods need room to breathe in the pan to cook properly while soaking up the spices. Take the extra bit of time to cook them spaced out properly in the pan and you'll have a better tasting dish.

Invest in high quality cooking pans and tools. This doesn't necessarily mean you have to go for the most expensive, but quality does make a huge difference when it comes to what we use to cook with. A high quality pan will be able to handle higher heats without warping. Quality tools will be able to do their job longer and more effectively than cheap brands. Prepare ingredients for the week's dinners. One great way to get a jump on time is to plan your dinners for the week on Sunday. When you know what you will be fixing each night you can take some time to portion and precook some of your ingredients. Vegetables can also be chopped and stored in Tupperware which will easily keep until used later in the week. By utilizing weekend time, you can save a lot of time during the week.
